The annual residents’ recycling and waste survey has been launched today and will run until 23rd January.
The Isle of Wight council is responsible for the collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of household recyclables and waste on the Island. This is delivered through a contract with our waste provider.
Lucioni: Some rubbish still ends up in landfill
Cllr Karen Lucioni, Cabinet lead for waste, said,
“We’ve made great progress as a community in recycling, but sadly some rubbish produced by households locally still ends up in landfill.
“We want to reduce that as much as we can and continue, with our waste partners, to provide the best service possible.”
Dix: More important than ever that you make sure you have your say in good time
Natasha Dix, strategic manager for environment, said,
“Thank you in advance for taking the time to help us shape the future waste and recycling services for our Island.
“Residents have already shown that they are up for the challenge of reducing their waste and I would like to thank everyone for their efforts so far.
“Once the survey has finished, we’ll use the results to look at possible improvements to the existing services so it’s more important than ever that you make sure you have your say in good time.”
Further information about the survey is on the Website. The consultation launches today and will run until midnight on 23rd January 2023.
