Talented young artists compete in Isle of Wight Council chairman’s Christmas card competition

The winner of the Isle of Wight council’s chairman’s Christmas card competition has been announced.

Nine-year-old Ozzy Cornes will see his picture of a festive looking St Catherine’s Oratory, with Santa Claus flying overhead, featured on the Isle of Wight council chairman’s official Christmas card this year.

Best designs based around a local landmark or theme
Cllr Claire Critchison called on talented pupils at Niton Primary School to come up with their best designs based around a local landmark or theme.

With help from parish councillors and other Isle of Wight councillors, a winner from each year group was chosen alongside an overall winner.

Critchison: All the entries were brilliant
Cllr Critchison said,

“All the entries were brilliant, and the Year 6 entries were extremely hard to judge because of the excellent standard.

“Thank you and well done to all the pupils that produced such wonderful designs.”
