The Environment Agency has issued a flooding alert for Cowes.
They say flooding is possible around the Cowes coast and encourage residents to ‘Be prepared’. Low lying coastal land and roads will be affected first.
High tide is expected at 11.41am
The actual tide level may be 0.1m higher than forecast. Even so, only very low level overtopping into coastal roads is expected around Cowes. No impacts expected at Ryde or Yarmouth.
Update 17.21:
Some low level flooding may occur at high tide in Cowes at 00:11.
Water levels will be very similar to those experienced at lunchtime today. Very minor overtopping of low lying coastal roads is expected. Water will be high up slipways around Cowes.
