You might remember us raving on about the HomeGrown Exhibition over the past week. And with good reason, it’s a great little exhibition that has been pulled together to feature eight Island artists, some who are trained, some who are trained but have never exhibited and others who are self taught.
One such artist was Chris Jones. Currently living in Ventnor, Chris’ work was a match made in heaven for the bare concrete walls of the back room of the exhibition space.
We’d seen his work online prior to the exhibition and instantly fell in love with his perspective on altered realities.
Chris uses a great deal of post production to create his, sometime haunting, images that adorn the walls of the Depozitry and this is what makes them so special.
We’d definitely recommend making the visit to Ryde to check these out, but if you can’t, then the power of the Internet can bring them to your desktop.
Chris has just opened a new online shop called Chemical Gardens where you can view the work and even order prints.
Take a look at his Blog and pop over to his shop (on Etsy).
He’s also got a bunch of images from the launch of HomeGrown on his Flickr site.
If you do get in touch with Chris, don’t forget to say where you heard about him.
