This coming Wednesday will see hundreds of public sector workers on the Isle of Wight join the national strike action.
As well as the schools (see updated list) and libraries, hundreds of staff at the council are due to be striking.
They include social workers, car park attendants, some care workers as well as many back office staff at the council.
A rally is being held in St Thomas’ Square from 11.30am which all union members and those supporting the strike are encouraged to attend.
The strikers are protesting at changes the Government plan to make to their pensions.
