Hurrah For IW Roadworks

We’ve been meaning for a couple of weeks to write an article about how brilliant it is to see so many roadworks on the Island at the moment.

Hurrah For IW RoadworksNow before you accuse us of being sarcastic or having a dig, we’re being absolutely genuine about this.

OK, so roadworks might hold us up a bit when we’re on our way somewhere, but it’s great to see that the IWC is finally spending money to improve the roads we all have to drive on.

One such example are the new £300,000 roadworks taking place over near Colwell (between Halletts Shute and Brambles Corner to be precise).

We’ve been told that plenty of signage is in place to ensure that drivers don’t think Yarmouth is cut off and to make it easy for drivers to find alternative routes.

Although the roadworks might cause delays and hassle for some, in the long run it’s going to be to our benefit.
