Isle of Wight Business owners were some of the first people to check out the new IKEA store in Southampton last night, as Red Funnel and IKEA gave them an exclusive sneak preview of what the new store has to offer.
Not only did they get to have a tour of the store, but they were also treated to a traditional Swedish meal in the restaurant, as well as some great prizes, including a £200 voucher to spend in store.
Glänsande!
So how did they get this special treatment? Well, 200 people were picked at random from the 750 who applied to get the special tickets (which incidentally also included complimentary ferry travel on the newly IKEA branded vehicle ferry Red Osprey courtesy of our friends at Red Funnel).
VentnorBlog have also been invited along for a sneak preview, so if you’re not one of the lucky 200 who went along last night, you won’t need to wait until the store opens next Thursday to see what they have on offer, you’ll be able to see it here first on VentnorBlog.
Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days.

“We have been waiting for a Southampton store for many years and we are pleased to be able to welcome Isle of Wight business owners and residents to our fabulous new store. IKEA is a home furnishings expert but also offers an extensive range of products suitable for businesses from crockery for restaurants to desks and lighting for offices
“IKEA has partnered with Red Funnel for its home deliveries to the Isle of Wight to make sure that Island residents have access to the iconic store which opens on 12 February. Located on West Quay road, the new store is only a two-minute drive or ten-minute walk from Red Funnel’s Terminals, perfect for Island residents who want to revamp their home or workspace.”
