The Isle of Wight Coroner’s court heard earlier this week how a father from East Cowes drowned his six year old daughter before committing suicide.
The court heard the tragic story of how 44 year old Darren Flux-Edmonds hung himself on 1st June 2016 after drowning his daughter Keziah, and his two pet dogs in the bath.
Keziah’s mother, who was separated from Mr Flux-Edmonds, had raised the alarm after receiving a worrying text from him on the morning of 1st June.
Bodies found by police
The CP report that Mr Flux-Edmonds’ body was found by officers hanging through the loft hatch, whilst his daughter was found lying on the bed with her arms around the pet dogs.
Officers tried to save her life, but Keizah was pronounced dead at St Mary’s Hospital later that day.
Unlawful killing and suicide
Caroline Sumeray, the Isle of Wight Coroner, concluded that Mr Flux-Edmonds had committed suicide and that Keizah was unlawfully killed.
Our sincerest thoughts are with all family and friends at this very painful time.
