As part of the Cultural Olympiad, a new exhibition arrives at St Mary’s hospital.
Twelve poster designs have commissioned by London 2012 from 12 British contemporary artists to promote the Olympic and Paralympics Games in London this summer, are on display outside the Full Circle Restaurant at St. Mary’s Hospital, Parkhurst Road, Newport.
The exhibition is free and after the 2012 Games the posters will go on permanent display at St. Mary’s.
Guy Eades, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust’s Healing Arts Director, who organises the exhibitions said, “The Olympics are more than just sport. There is a whole range of activity associated with the Olympics and it is good that some of this has been seen on the Island and at St. Mary’s Hospital.
“The work commissioned by London 2012 will brighten NHS walls on the Island for years to come.”
