Internationally acclaimed classical pianist Viv McLean is set to perform as part of Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s 2016/17 Concert Series this Friday (14 October 2016).
Renowned musician
Viv McLean has performed at all the major venues in the UK, as well as throughout Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA, and was the winner of the first prize at the 2002 Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona.
His concerto work includes appearances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra, to name but a few. He has regularly recorded for BBC Radio 3, and has also recorded recitals for Classic FM and Sky Arts.
Partnership with West Wight Arts Association
His performance at the Hospice has been made possible thanks to a partnership with West Wight Arts Association, and Viv will perform at the Memorial Hall, Freshwater, the following evening (Saturday 15 October 2016). More information can be found by visiting their Website.
Programme
Viv’s performance at the Hospice will include: Bach/Busoni Chorale Prelude “Ich Ruf zu Dir, Herr Jesu Christ” BMV. 639, Ravel Sonatine, Chopin Prelude in C Sharp Minor, Grieg’s Lyric Pieces and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
Ahead of the performance, Viv said:
