Investment planned for Central Hotel, Ventnor as new purchaser submits plans to Isle of Wight council

Plans are afoot for a large investment in the former Central Hotel in Ventnor.

Situated opposite the central car park in the town, for the past 20 years the premises has provided on upper floors six HMO (House of Multiple Occupancy) residential units with shared kitchen facilities, as well as a four-bedroomed town house.

The ground floor has operated as a bar periodically over the years, and now houses the Better Days Cafe and inclusion hub.

New purchaser making large investment
The Central Hotel has been on the market for more than seven years and the new purchaser of the site (Ian Schaff of INCA Partners LLP) is planning a large investment to bring the HMO units and town house up to a better quality standard, as well as ensuring long-term maintenance of this important Grade II listed building.

They explain in the plans that the provision of viable ground floor commercial use will help maintain the vitality and vibrancy of this town centre site.
