An extract from the novel won the 2008 Mail on Sunday Novel Competition, judges Fay Weldon and Sir John Mortimer describing the writing as magnificent.

It’s set in 1980’s Britain, and one of the central locations is the Isle of Wight, around the Freshwater and Tennyson trail.

The event is free and there’ll even be free wine and nibbles.

Just head for Waterstone’s for 6.30 pm tomorrow evening (Tuesday 13th October)
