The first usage statistics of the non-emergency phone service 111, that was launched on the Isle of Wight late last year, to replace NHS Direct, have been published.
During November 2011, 3,284 calls from Islanders were made to the 111 number. Of these, 2,627 weren’t abandoned before they were answered – and pretty much all of them (2,620) were answered within 60 seconds.
657 calls were abandoned – 571 after 30 seconds waiting time and an additional 86 after.
