Local businesses are being invited to swap the office for the Island Animal Centre this autumn and make a tangible difference to animals in need as part of the RSPCA Isle of Wight’s Corporate Volunteer Day.
What the day involves
Taking place on Friday 2nd October 2026, from 9.30am to 2.30pm, the event will give local teams the opportunity to spend a few hours volunteering at the charity’s Animal Centre, helping with practical jobs including painting, gardening and general tidying.
No previous experience is required, and the charity is also keen to hear from businesses whose teams may be able to offer more specialist skills or expertise.
Meeting the animals and learning their stories
The day is designed to provide businesses with a meaningful opportunity to support animal welfare while bringing colleagues together outside the workplace.
Volunteers will receive lunch, with tea, coffee and refreshments available throughout the day.
After lunch, the team will have the chance to meet some of the animals cared for at the centre and learn more about animal rescue, rehabilitation and welfare on the Island.

“Our last Corporate Volunteer Day was a huge success and it is a fantastic way for local businesses to make a real difference while giving their teams an opportunity to work together for a very worthwhile cause. There is always plenty to do at the Animal Centre, and even a few hours of practical help can make a huge difference to the animals and the people caring for them.
“We hope businesses from across the Island will come along, get stuck in and see first-hand the difference their support can make.”
About RSPCA Isle of Wight
RSPCA Isle of Wight is an independent local charity caring for vulnerable animals on the Island. The Island Animal Centre, near Godshill, cares for and rehomes dogs, cats, small animals and wildlife.
The charity receives no government funding and limited financial support from the national RSPCA, with more than 95% of its funding raised locally through donations, legacies, events and its charity shops.

With more than 100 volunteers already supporting the charity across its activities, RSPCA Isle of Wight says volunteers are critical to its work caring for animals in need.
