Following the dreadful flooding on the Isle of Wight back at the end of December, the Island’s train network, between Shanklin and Ryde, was taken out of service due to damage to the line.
Over a period of just under three weeks, engineers worked through more horrendous weather conditions to repair the line between Smallbrook and Ryde St John’s and the train line is now back in service.
Despite working with just two trains – due to flooding damage at the depot – the service is running to the scheduled timetable.
