Islanders invited to shape future of community-driven research on the Isle of Wight

Community Action IW is reaching out to Isle of Wight residents to gather input for a potential Community Research Network.

The initiative aims to explore ways to connect residents with research opportunities and resources, fostering a vibrant community-driven research culture on the Island.

Share your thoughts
If you’re interested in shaping the development of this network, you can contribute by completing a survey or arranging a discussion with the organisers.

The survey covers various topics, including personal experiences with research and what you would like a Community Research Network to offer.

Key areas of focus
Community Action IW is keen to hear ideas about potential activities the network could support. These include:

  • Opportunities to participate in research projects
  • Talks on research happening across the Island
  • Influencing research priorities
  • Support to carry out personal research projects
  • Training in research methods

There’s also an emphasis on creating connections—whether with clinical researchers, universities, or peer researchers—to encourage collaboration and shared learning.

Get involved
To provide your input, visit the Community Action IW website at Community Research.

Alternatively, you can email your interest or arrange a conversation by contacting the team at [email protected].

By participating, you can help shape a research network that reflects the needs and aspirations of the Isle of Wight community.
