Take a journey through the art of film making with some of the Island’s leading and up-coming film making talent at this year’s Isle of Arts Festival.
We have assembled a range of acclaimed expert talents – all with an Island connection – who will be providing entertaining insights on life behind the camera, from working with animal actors and creating special effects the hard way without computer graphics, through to an insider’s story of how to succeed as an independent film producer.
Talks and screenings
There are a range of events throughout the day to choose from. Kicking off at noon, Dave Ellison talks about the making of Tales from the Riverbank.
This will be followed by film historian, Tony Dalton, giving a talk about special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen, before introducing the afternoon’s Classic movie.
The Wight Film Network showcase Island film maker’s short films before Island-based independent film director and winner of Variety Critics Choice Award 2010, Bruce Webb, shares an insider’s take of independent film making. He’ll also be introducing the evening’s Classic movie.
