The Skatonics

Isle of Arts Festival: Super Ska Sunday

Organisers of the Isle of Arts Festival have certainly shown great diversity when choosing their acts to close the festival.

Previous years have seen mass choirs with Aled Jones as well as quality jazz from Digby Fairweather and his band.

This year, organisers are keen to ensure that festival-goers once again leave the festival feeling uplifted and energised and hope this fantastic ska spectacular on Sunday 21 April fits the bill.

Classic Trojan Ska
The Skatonics are an eight-strong ska band, swiftly making a name for themselves as one of the best ska bands in the UK.

They feature keyboards and brass and, we’re told, intend to deliver a blend of classic Trojan Ska alongside an impressive catalogue of Two-Tone covers from the likes of The Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, The Selecter and more.

From The Jam
The Jam were one of the most iconic bands of the punk rock era. From The Jam have emerged from the chrysalis of that band to deliver all the hits in raging good form.

If you never saw The Jam in their heyday, then this is a chance to find out exactly what you missed.

There will be a break of between 45 mins to an hour while organisers re-rig between sets. During the break you can hold up in the bar tent or try some of the local hostelries.

Super Ska Sunday tickets
Isle of Arts are offering a double-whammy ticket, which means you get to see both Skatonics (£12) and From The Jam (£21) for just £30.

Head over to the Isle of Arts Website to book online.
