Isle of Wight council approves 4.99% council tax increase for 2025-26

Isle of Wight council voted this evening to increase council tax by 4.99% when it set its budget for 2025-26.

Both the Liberal Democrat and Conservative group of councillors put forward amendments which were voted through.

Those amendments joined the substantive budget proposals put forward by the Alliance group.

Labour MP, Richard Quigley and Independent councillor for Pan and Barton, Geoff Brodie, voted against the Conservative amendment, and then the substantive proposals.
