A September 2015 date has been agreed for the launch of a new-look and reinvigorated Isle of Wight Music Education Hub - following ongoing consultation feedback and discussions with music service providers and participants.
The council leader says the decision "has been reached with much regret", but all schools have been informed of options on how they can retain school crossing patrols through their own in-house arrangements.
Island Labour say the cuts being imposed by Conservative budget are "unnecessarily callous" when put alongside the increase in council reserves to twice the minimum requirement. They say this is "precisely the time when any council should be doing its utmost to protect both services and the incomes of residents".
The move could make an additional £6 million for the council, but concerns have been raised about sending the wrong message to Islanders and promising something that may not happen due to uncertain legislation
