Isle of Wight daily positive Covid tests four times those at start of IW Festival (updated)

The number of daily positive Covid-19 tests on the Isle of Wight spiked today (Wednesday) at 167, four times that of the Friday of Isle of Wight Festival, 40 on 17th September.

This takes the seven-day rolling rate a total of 768 – a rate per 100,000 of 544.68 – double that of a fortnight ago.

What does ‘Seven-day rolling figures’ mean?
It shows the total number of Islanders that tested positive for Covid over the previous seven days.

Each day a new seven day’s worth is totalled to include just the previous seven days figures – it’s a sliding window.

The cumulative total since the pandemic began now stands at 12,645 – a rate per 100,000 population of 8,968.09.
