Next weekend sees the start of a very new festival take place on the Island.
Calbourne Water Mill is the tranquil setting for the very first Isle of Wight DidgHeadRadio Festival.
We’re really looking forward to popping along to this great new festival which will feature the best contemporary didgeridoo and acoustic music from around the world.
As well as that you can enjoy the delights of aboriginal dancer/singer Jermaine Herbohn from the Tjapukai Cultural Park Australia and Czech Republic techno didge band KusKusKlan.
We have it on good authority that the festival features a diverse range of virtuoso playing from such instruments as the Swiss Hang, Japanese Fujara, Thai Khene, North African Birembou, Russian balalaika, North American and Ukranian flutes, jaw harps and throat/overtone singers.
A sight to behold will be Island samba and djembe bands performing alongside the Kagamusha Taiko Festival troupe and Ryde Extreme.
To kick start the festival, which has a secure contract with Calbourne Mill for the next three years, camping is free with adult weekend festival tickets at a modest £45.
Visit the Festival Website for more information and ticket purchase.
Why not give it a go?
