Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters is somewhat of a hero to many of the Island musicians we’ve met over the years, so there should be a massive punching of air across the Isle of Wight this morning.
Yes folks, five piece rock band from Seattle, Foo Fighters, have been confirmed as returning to the Island next year as the Saturday headliners for the 2011 Isle of Wight Festival.
The band are currently working on their seventh album and wanting to take their fans on that journey, have got a live feed from the studio so you can see its development.
Returning after five years
Festival head honcho, John Giddings, said, “What band is more fitting to bring back for our tenth birthday than the Foos? They gave it their all in 2006 and have only become bigger and better since.”
Tickets go on sale this Friday, 19th November, watch this space for details of where to buy them (£175 camping, £150 non-camping).
The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 takes place on 10, 11 & 12 June 2011.
