An application to review the licence for the Isle of Wight Festival takes place from 10am on Monday 19th November at County Hall.
The meeting, which will last no longer than three hours, will hear the outcome of a public consultation in relation to the licence review request made by an executive at GKN on the grounds of The Prevention of Crime and Disorder; Public Safety and The Prevention of Public Nuisance.
The application to revoke the licence is not being supported by the relevant authorities.
The report’s conclusion states
This application is not supported by the Responsible Authorities. Comments from the Highways department, IOW Ambulance & Fire suggest, that whilst circumstances may have been challenging their individual functions were not impeded, that lessons have been learnt and that any improvements required could be achieved by way of recommendations via the Safety Advisory Group.
These recommendations would then form part of the Event Safety and Operational Plan and would become enforceable under the terms of the premises licence.
Environmental Health, the Police and the Licensing Authority state that they do not support this application and consider the current licence to be fit for purpose. The Licensing Authority recommends that the Committee do not amend any part of the current licence.
