John Giddings has confirmed this morning that Maximo Park, White Lies, The View, The Rifles and special guest Paolo Nutini have all been added to the main stage lineup for the 2009 Isle of Wight Festival which takes place this June at Seaclose Park in Newport.
Maximo Park, the five piece from ‘oop north are sure to rock the crowd.
Tickets for their 2007 tour sold out in minutes of being released, so we expect there’ll be plenty of people keen to catch them in Newport.
Warming up the crowd for Maximo Park will be White Lies. The three piece from West London have built up a loyal following over the last year and have been compared to likes of Nick Cave. We know plenty of people who’ll be pleased to hear that.
Scottish rockers The View are guaranteed to cause some mayhem on stage have been teamed up with Paulo Nutini who’s been a busy boy working away in the studio – so expect some new material at the Festival this June.
Four piece mod/punk band from Chingford, the Rifles who are championed by Paul Weller are no stranger to playing at festivals, their live performances have been described by fans as unforgettable, so make sure you check them out.
