This in from Red Funnel in their own words. Ed
Red Funnel has issued the following advice to its Island customers who propose travelling as foot passengers on the following dates: –
Thu 9 June & Fri 10 June 2011
Travel from East & West Cowes – no issues are envisaged for foot passengers but return travel on the 9 or 10 June is not recommended.
Travel from Southampton – very long queues of foot passengers are expected from mid-morning until well into the evening on all Red Funnel services to East and West Cowes.
There will be separate queues for each service and travel will be on a first come first served basis. Where possible, season ticket holders, elderly and disabled customers and passengers with serious medical conditions will be prioritised but delays should still be expected.
Sat 10 June & Sun 12 June 2011
There is spare capacity in both directions and no delays are expected on either route.
Mon 13 June 2011
Travel from East and West Cowes – very long queues are expected from 0900 hrs until the end of the day.
There will be separate queues for each service and travel will be on a first come first served basis. Where possible, season ticket holders, elderly and disabled customers and passengers with serious medical conditions will be prioritised but delays should still be expected.
