Given the difficult times that many face at the moment, it’s probably no surprise to hear that demand for the services of foodbank have increased over the last few months.
Hannah King from Isle of Wight foodbank tells us that they fed 302 people in September and over 300 in October from their seven distribution centres across the Island.
“These are Isle of Wight people in crisis here on the Island.” says Hannah.
Nearly new clothes sale
In order to help keep the operation going, foodbank are holding a Nearly New Clothes Sale at the foodbank HQ in Cowes.
It takes place on Saturday 17th November between 10am to 2pm.
Why not head down and browse through the rails of men’s, women’s and children’s clothes and shoes. Have a ‘Cuppa & Cake’ whilst you are there and be part of something helping to make a difference to Islanders’ lives.
If you have any unwanted clothes and textiles, do please take them along..
