The number of electric car chargers on the Isle of Wight is frankly pitifully low.
Those with electric cars will be delighted to hear that four new ones have appeared at ‘Big Tesco’.
Amazingly, they’re free to use.
Collab with VW
It’s a collaboration between VW and Tesco. VW are making a lot of efforts to push their two new electric cars, the ID-3 and ID-4
The charges are run by Pod Point and provide Type 2 sockets. They are the most basic type of car charger, with only 7kw available, so charging will be slow, but at least it’s a step in the right direction – and they’re free to use!

You’ll find them in the parking to the left of the store at Westridge, as you look at the building.
