In the second episode of Isle of Wight: Jewel of the South the summer season is well underway and for the Island’s popular floating restaurant, the Best Dressed crab in Bembridge, they’re awash with customers eager to taste their freshly caught crab and lobster.
Riding the waves to reel it in, is local fisherman Bob Simmonds, who needs a bumper haul to satisfy hungry customers – will it be winner, winner, lobster dinner or empty plates all round?
On the Nunwell estate near Brading, it’s a big day for novice farmers Hollie Fallick and Francesca Cooper, as they embark on their biggest cattle wrangle to date – moving eighty belted Galloway cows a quarter of a mile to a rewilded field. Will these young entrepreneurs keep their errant herd on track?
In Arreton Barns, glass blower Timothy Harris creates a fitting tribute to commemorate his late father and celebrated studio glass artist, Michael – but will his latest work win the approval of his ninety-year-old mother, Elizabeth?
The Isle of Wight offers an abundance of campsites for those who enjoy the al fresco life. And nestled in the hills just outside Newport, they don’t come much quirkier than the Windmill Campersite, where Stewart Dungey and his son Rhys’ cleverly converted holiday lets, include a sub used in a Bond movie.
But what will birthday boy Rupert think of their latest bonkers creation, called Insanity and Beyond?
And in East Cowes, High Sheriff Dawn Haig-Thomas takes us on a royal trip down memory lane, around the grounds of her stunning home, Barton Manor, once part of Victoria and Albert’s estate.
