This coming Sunday (24th May) sees the return of the Isle of Wight Lambretta Day.

Now in its 16th year, the event which attracts over 200 classic scooters kicks off down at the Quay in Newport at midday. Scooters will be gathering by the Riverside Centre for a ride out at 1pm – heading to Ryde seafront, via Newport town Centre.

Entertainment and prize-giving continues until 6pm, then it’s time to pop home to put your best togs on for the main event.

The Fliks
The evening gig has always had top artists and DJs and this year is no exception. Also, you don’t have to own a scooter, everyone is welcome.

If you love the sound of girl groups from the 1960s, The Fliks should be right up your street. They are, quite simply, one of the best tributes to 60s girl groups going!

Three female singers are supported by a four-piece band, every one of them individually talented. Expect to hear 60s pop-girls, Motown girls, Soul-girls and Northern Nightingales.

This will be the ultimate 1960’s ear candy.

But that’s not all, because your ticket doesn’t buy just one live band, you get two!

Quadrophonia
Quadrophonia are the authentic live tribute to The Who. Look forward to adrenaline-fuelled rock ’n’ roll, capturing that magical point in time when The Who were the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band on earth.

Their set list contains a majority of the most popular material from The Who’s catalogue until the final days of Keith Moon. Their live show recreates this period in the early 1970s with the aid of authentic stage wear and backline, powerful stage performances together with stage theatrics and a full ‘WHO’ light and laser show.

Around the live performances top tunes will be spun by DJ Ricky Tick with Mod, Funk, Beat, Soul & Jazz playing until late.

Don’t miss this night at The Balcony Bars, Ryde, Seafront. Doors open 8pm – 1.30am
