Calls have been renewed for Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, to retract false allegations that the Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, “used his time prosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile” whilst he was Director of Public Prosecutions.
The renewed calls followed Sir Keir having to be whisked away by Police after he was mobbed by a group protesters, calling him a “traitor”, referring to Jimmy Savile and calling him a “paedo protector”.
Stuart: Deeply disappointed with IW MP
Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Bob Seely, has told News OnTheWight and Isle of Wight Radio that it is “not completely unfair and unreasonable” that Sir Keir be held responsible for the corporate failings whilst Director of Public Prosecutions.
In response, Isle of Wight Liberal Democrat spokesperson, Nick Stuart, told News OnTheWight,
“It is surprising and deeply disappointing that Bob Seely has felt able to yet again defend the moral vacuousness and calculated slurs of Boris Johnson.”
Stuart: False association with a vile paedophile
He went on to say,
“We have a Prime Minister who stands up in Parliament and lies about partying while the rest of us dealt with isolation and sorrows during Lockdown.
“A PM who then very deliberately in Parliament falsely associates the opposition leader with a vile paedophile.
“Then he performs a very quiet, minimal backstep while refusing to apologise for a calculated lie. All leading, in my view, directly to threats and abuse against a fellow human.”
Stuart: Will stick in the throat of many people
The LibDem spokesperson finished by saying,
“While as a distraction our MP sings about a minor education boost and disruptive changes on the Island, which anybody with real knowledge of education will point out is doomed to cause more damage to our Island.
“Loyalty to your party is understandable, but loudly supporting the sickening behaviour of a politically bankrupt leader will stick in the throat of many people.”
News OnTheWight has today put a number of questions to Mr Seely and will report his responses when we receive them.
