Isle of Wight on Google Street View, Now the World Can See Its Beauty

You might remember previous discussions on VB when it was learnt that Google would be including the Isle of Wight in their Street view application.

The service allows you to select an area on a map and look around at street level, as if you are standing in the actual street.

Well, we hear through VB reader David Atkinson (thanks David) that the service has now gone live and shows the Island off in all its splendour.

We have mixed views on the application. Yes it’s great that potential holiday makers can get a flavour of what’s on offer on the Island from their desktop, but we also feel that it’s also another chip away for our privacy.

We love technology and the advantages that it brings, but in our view, some things are best left alone.

But given it’s here, why not let us know which view you think shows the Island off to its best.
