Isle of Wight Photographic Society launches new season

The Isle of Wight Photographic Society (IWPS) beings their new season with an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Arreton Community Centre and on Zoom on Wednesday 11th September 2024.

What we do and have to offer
The Society was established in 1945, although there is some evidence to indicate that the Society had its origins in the late 19th century. Nevertheless, they are the oldest photographic club on the Island.

IWPS caters for all abilities and their aim is enable you to improve and enjoy your photography.

The founding objective was ‘to encourage members in developing their skills in the Art and Science of Photography’. This remains the objective today.

What to expect
There are experienced members who are very willing to offer their help. Regular competitions are held, these are for prints and projected digital images.

From time to time there are opportunities for members undertake to undertake projects and assignments including support to community groups on the Isle of Wight.

There are annual exhibitions at Ryde Library and Brading Roman Villa and IWPS will be showing their ‘Then and Now’ exhibition at Dimbola Gallery, Freshwater from 29th August to 22nd September.

Join the AGM
The AGM takes place at Arreton Community Centre, Arreton and on Zoom from 7.30pm on Wednesday 11th September 2024.
