Isle of Wight polling stations open from 7am on Thursday for Police and Crime Commissioner vote

Polling stations around the Isle of Wight will be opening their doors at 7am on Thursday 2nd May, as voting begins for the next Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Commissioner.

The role has been held for the last three years by Conservative Donna Jones.

Thursday’s election brings a choice of four candidates:

  • Prad Bains, Liberal Democrats
  • Don Jerrard, The Justice and Anti Corruption Party
  • Donna Jones, Conservative Candidate
  • Becky Williams, Labour and Co-operative Party

Those registered to vote will have already received their polling cards. The polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 2nd May 2024.

Voters must show relevant photo ID in order to vote.

Postal votes
If people vote by post and have not sent in their ballot, they can be delivered to County Hall during office hours or handed in to any polling station.

News rules on postal votes mean that individuals will not be allowed to hand in more than five postal ballot packs (in addition to their own). All individuals handing in postal votes to local authority offices or polling stations will need to complete a postal vote return form, and by law, any hand-delivered ballot that is not accompanied by a postal vote return form will be rejected.
