Isle of Wight Pride, along with many organisations that rely on volunteers to function, have found another impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is the decline in people coming forward to get involved.
To rekindle interest and welcome new volunteers, IW Pride are holding a drop-in session.
Become part of Team Pride
Anyone interested in becoming part of Team Pride can come along and discover plans for 2022 and how to take part in July and the build-up during the coming months.
Trustees and supporters since the start in 2017 will be on hand to answer questions and talk about opportunities.
Fully inclusive
Everyone is welcome, be it from within the LGBTQIA+ community to Allies. Whatever skills, help on the day or lead up to the big event are all appreciated, from rattling a bucket to organising the event, performing to site decoration.
Fraser: A rewarding experience that offers some amazing opportunities
Trustee, Laura Fraser, said,
“Besides health and wellbeing, the last two years has changed many people’s lives, like their priorities in life and work life balance.
“The response to support each other during the last couple of years has been phenomenal with helping those in isolation and at vaccination centres. However, we are now seeing a major impact in people coming forward to volunteer.
“Being part of Team Pride promises to be a rewarding experience for everyone and offers some amazing opportunities to get involved. Every offer of help counts, and IW Pride can help find a role to be part of an amazing event for the Island and many visitors.”
Isle of Wight Pride 2022

The drop-in session takes place on Friday 25th February at the Riverside Centre in Newport between 12.30pm and 6.30pm.
Anyone unable to drop-in on the day is invited to email [email protected] for further information.
