Isle of Wight residents urged to voice opinions in final days of budget survey

Time is running out for residents to have their say in this year’s budget survey.

There are just days left for people to give their views before the consultation closes on Friday 26th January.

The council is asking for views on how it spends its money to help set a balanced budget with increasing costs and rising demand for its services.

Once the consultation closes, public feedback will be used to help inform discussions when the draft budget is debated at Cabinet and Full Council next month.

The survey, which launched on 18th December, is available online.

Jordan: Recent circumstances beyond our control have placed additional pressures on everyone
Councillor Phil Jordan, council leader, said,

“I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the survey so far.

“Your responses will really help us to make some important decisions about where we should focus our spending for the year ahead, and help us shape the council services which so many people rely on.

“The last few years have been financially tough, and recent circumstances beyond our control have placed additional pressures on everyone, with councils across the country facing sometimes challenging decisions to help stabilise financial positions.

“If you haven’t done so already, I’d urge you to take just a few minutes and complete our online survey before the 26th January deadline.”
