APSE HEATH:
A3056 Newport Road (from Apse Heath Mini Roundabout to a point 120 metres towards Arretton). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 2 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3056 Newport Road (outside Nimotnor approx. 90 metres Arreton side of Apse Heath Mini Roundabout). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 15 February and Wednesday 17 February for drainage works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.

ARRETON:
Mersley Downs Road (at entrance to Combley Farm). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 15 February 2016 for hedge cutting works by Paul Read. Traffic delays will occur.
BEMBRIDGE:
Kings Road (outside The Ruskins) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Monday 22 February and Wednesday 24 February for manhole works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
BONCHURCH:
Balaambs Passage footpath will be closed Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 8.30pm on Friday 8 January until 8.30pm on Friday 29 July 2016 between Bonchurch Village Road and The Pitts. The route for pedestrians will be: Bonchurch Village Road, Bonchurch Shute and The Pitts. The road closure is required until retaining wall repair works have been undertaken.
BRADING:
Nunwell Farm Lane will be closed on one day between 9am until 4pm from Friday 12 February until Tuesday 16 February 2016. The closure is from West Lane to the end of the highway and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There is no alternative route for traffic; however emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
CALBOURNE:
Lynch Lane will be closed on one day between 9.30am until 3.30pm from Friday 12 February until Tuesday 16 February 2016. The closure is from Winkle Street to Strawberry Lane and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Lynch Lane, Freshwater Road, Shalcombe Road, Brook Road, Brook Hill, Brighstone Road, Hunny Hill, Main Road, Moortown Hill and Lynch Lane
Clatterford Shute will be closed on one day between 9.30am until 3.30pm from Friday 12 February until Tuesday 16 February 2016. The closure is from Clatterford Road to Millers Lane and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Clatterford Road, High Street, Cedar Hill, Castle Hill, Castle Lane and Millers Lane.
CARISBROOKE:
Castle Street (Outside 16). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 1 March until 4.30pm on Monday 7 March 2016 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Traffic delays will occur.
CHESSELL:
Brook Road will be closed from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 17 February and Thursday 18 February 2016 between Shalcombe Road and Freshwater Road for cable repair works by A/plant for British Telecom. Diversion Route: Shalcombe Road and Freshwater Road.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
FRESHWATER:
A3055 Afton Road (from the access to Afton Park Farm to a point 250 metres towards Stroud Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 16 February and Thursday 18 February for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
GODSHILL:
A3020 Newport Road (from Munsley Farm Laneto Worsley Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 9 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
HAVENSTREET:
Stroud Wood Road (various locations Newnham Road to Carters Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on Tuesday 19 February 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Havenstreet Main Road (outside Woodlands). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 29 February 2016 for the replacement of a sewer frame and cover by P Fitzsimmons Dyno Rod.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Winchester House to Cemetery Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 9 May and Friday 13 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NEWPORT:
A3054 Fairlee Road / Racecourse (from Junction with East Cowes Road to Racecourse Roundabout). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 11pm on each night between Wednesday 17 February and Friday 17 February 2016 for drainage survey works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Albany Road (various locations from near Banner Lane to Whitesmith Road, Hunnyhill Primary School to outside 59 & 65). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 15 February and Friday 19 February 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
South Street (outside ATS tyres) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 6am on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 17 February and Friday 26 February 2016 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3020 St Georges Way (junction with Shide Road and Blackwater Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Wednesday 24 February or on Thursday 25 February 2016 replacement of a sewer frame and cover outside number 59 Shide Road by P Fitzsimmons Dyno Rod. Some traffic delays are likely.
Portland Street will be closed on one day between 9.30am until 3.30pm from Friday 12 February until Tuesday 16 February 2016. The closure is from Carisbrooke Road to Trafalgar Road and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Carisbrooke Road to Trafalgar Road.
Field Place will be closed on one day between 9.30am until 3.30pm from Friday 12 February until Tuesday 16 February 2016. The closure is from Trevor Road to the end of the highway at the Mall and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There is no alternative route for traffic; however emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
A3054 Forest Road (near to 93). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 17 February and Friday 19 February 2016 for manhole / gully works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NITON:
A3054 Blackgang Road (near speed Limit Sign) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 17 February and Friday 19 February 2016 for highway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
ROOKLEY:
Niton Road (various locations between Dolcroft Road to Harts Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30am until 6pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 22 February until Friday 4 March 2016 for works to vehicle access by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3020 Main Road (various locations from Niton Road to Pritchett’s Way). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 2 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3020 Main Road (outside Pagham Place) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 22 February and Monday 29 February 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
Spencer Road (junction with Buckland Gardens). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8.30am on Monday 14 September 2015 until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 29 January 2016 for gas main replacement works by Southern Gas Networks. Some traffic delays will occur.
Spencer Road will be closed from 8am on Friday 22 January unit approx.4.30pm on Friday 18 March 2016 between Buckingham Road and St Thomas Street. The route for diverted traffic will be: eastbound: Spencer Road, West Street, Lind Street and St Thomas Street and westbound; St Thomas Street, Lind Street, St Thomas Square, High Street, Garfield Road, Victoria Street, John Street and West Street. The closure is for gas main replacement works.
SANDOWN:
Avenue Road (from St Johns Crescent to Carter Street). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 15 February and Wednesday 17 February for drainage works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Melville Street will be closed on each day between 9.30am until 3.30pm from Monday 15 February until Wednesday 17 February 2016. The closure is from Grafton Street to High Street and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Grafton Street, Leed Street, A3055 Broadway, Station Avenue, Albert Road, Victoria Road and High Street. The one way restrictions in Melville Street from Grafton Street to High Street and in Fitzroy Street from Station Avenue to Melville Street will be temporarily suspended to allow access.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Alresford Road for approx. 300 metres towards Lake). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 7am on each night (Mondays to Fridays- not Bank holiday Monday 2 May 2016) between Thursday 21 April and Monday 9 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
James Avenue (Chelsfield Road to James Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Thursday 10 March and Monday 21 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Green Lane (from Wheeler Way to Chelsfield Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 6 April and Tuesday 19 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3055 Church Road (outside the Old Thatch Tea Rooms). Temporary 2 way traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Friday 19 February until Friday 18 March 2016 due to scaffolding in the highway for roof repair works by Emerald Construction. Some traffic delays are likely.
Green Lane (from Witbank Gardens to King Edwards Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 21 March and Tuesday 5 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Landguard Manor Road (from Green Lane to Witbank Gardens)). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 22 March and Monday 4 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
St Lawrence Shute will be closed on 5 days between 7am and 11pm from Monday 15 February until Sunday 20 March 2016. The closure is from Seven Sister Road to Whitwell Road whilst safety barriers are installed on the approaches to the old railway bridge by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic will be: Seven Sisters Road, A3055 Undercliff Drive and Steephill Road, Castle Road, Gills Cliff Road and Whitwell Road.
VENTNOR:
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. 1 April 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. 1 April 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
B3327 Newport Road, Ventnor will be closed from Monday 4 February until Sunday 13 March 2016 between Down Lane and Gills Cliff Road / Ocean View Road. The road closure is for Geotechnical carriageway works by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: B3327 Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue and St Boniface Road, A3055 Leeson Road, Bonchurch Road, Cowleaze Hill, Church Road and High Street (Shanklin), A3020 Victoria Avenue, Godshill Road, B3327 St Johns Road, High Street (Wroxall), Clarence Road and Newport Road. Traffic from Newport to Ventnor should use: A3020 to Godshill, West Street, Whitwell Road, High Street (Whitwell), Ventnor Road, Whitwell Road and Gills Cliff Road.
A3055 Trinity Road (near Trinity Church) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (between Wednesday 24 February and Friday 26 February 2016 for carriage way repair works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WOOTTON:
A3054 Kite Hill (at Wootton Bridge). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation again from the evening on Sunday 3 January 2016 until approx. 7pm on Friday 19 February 2016 due to bridge strengthening works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur. Motorists travelling between Newport and Ryde are advised to use an alternative route, if possible during the works such as via Long Lane, The Downs Road and Ashey Road. Mill Square will also be closed during the above dates from the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street to a point 18 metres to the North West of A3054 High Street. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Mill Square and A3054 High Street. The road closure is necessary whilst bridge works are undertaken. The Public Slipway will be closed at Mill Square near to the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street during the same times.
A3054 High Street / Kite Hill will be closed on approx. 7 to 10 nights from 7.30pm until 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 15 February and Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is from New Road to Fishbourne Lane and is for carriageway surfacing works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; A3054 High Street, Station Road, Briddlesford Road, Downend Road,A3056 Arreton Street, Hale Common and Newport Road, A3055 Sandown Road, Lake Hill, Broadway, Avenue Road, Morton Common, Morton Road, New Road, High Street (Brading), Rowborough Lane, Beaper Shute, Brading Road, Marlborough Road, Alexandra Road, Stat Johns Hill, St Johns Road, Green Street, Argyll Street, Pellhurst Road, A3054 Binstead Road, Binstead Road Hill, Quarr Hill and Elenor’s Grove.
