In what he describes as “by far the most ambitious project I have ever taken on”, Isle of Wight singer-songwriter Ben Stubbs has already achieved half of his fundraising appeal to support production of his very first album.
The 33-year-old has been writing songs for around 15 years and you may have even seen him perform on the Island in recent years.
Light of My Life
Ben explains,
“I have launched this Kickstarter campaign to help fund the production of my very first full album, “Light of My Life”.
“After several years in the making, I’m ready to take “Light of My Life” into the studio.
“I’ve gathered a small group of exceptional musicians to help me really bring the beauty out of these songs.”
Stubbs: My heart and soul is well and truly in this
Ben is hoping to raise £6,000 in the next 26 days, but has seen huge support already, with a whopping £3,495 raised in the first few days. The album will consist of ten original songs that speak of life, love and the world we live in.
Ben says,
“Many hours have gone into their writing and I am incredibly proud of what they’ve become.
“My heart and soul is well and truly in this and I can’t wait to be able to share this collection with you in its full glory.”
The Kickstarter target
The money raised will go towards studio time, paying musicians, marketing, printing and distributing physical copies of the album.
Ben adds,
“All these have been incorporated into my target. I believe that I have budgeted reasonably with a small amount of room for surprises.”
