Isle of Wight Sports Awards 2023 open for nominations – who’s your sporting hero?

It’s that time again…nominations are now open for the Isle of Wight Sports Awards 2023.

From the people who make Isle of Wight sport tick through their brilliant volunteering efforts, to the young stars of tomorrow, there will be a category you can nominate someone in.

There are categories for junior and adult individuals, as well as for schools and clubs.

Don’t miss the deadline
The winners will be announced at the glittering awards ceremony at Medina Theatre on Thursday 21st March, but the pressing deadline is midnight on 14th January 2024, when nominations close

So, if your club is a member of the Isle of Wight Sports Foundation, which runs the awards, get your thinking caps on about who you want to nominate this year.

Beasley: Amazed at the quality of the entries
Claire Beasley, chair of the IW Sports Foundation, said,

“This is such a super evening…every year we are amazed at the quality of the entries and the sheer breadth of talent the Isle of Wight has across the sporting spectrum.”

All finalists and their nominators will be invited to the big night.

The nominations will be judged by an independent panel.

Beasley: Membership only costs £10 per year
Claire added,

“We can only accept nominations from our members.  This applies to individuals, sports clubs and schools, so if you aren’t already a member you will need to join first.

“Membership only costs £10 per year and runs from January to December, but if you join now you will get the remainder of this year free.

“We are always grateful for the sponsorships that allow us to run the awards and look forward to greeting our sponsors on the awards night.”

The membership form can be found on the website.
