Methodology
To reveal the most popular staycations for 2023 they first created a seed list of the top 50 UK towns and cities for a staycation using sources such as The Telegraph, TimeOut and Country Living.

They then used Google Ads Keyword Planner to reveal the annual Google search volume for staycations in each destination. This data specifically looked at 2022-2023 Google searches, highlighting the most sought-after UK locations.

To ensure the accuracy of the data they used relevant and specific search terms such as ‘Oxford holiday,’ ‘holiday in Oxford’ and ‘Oxford staycation’ rather than just ‘Oxford’, and then combined the figures for these searches.
