Mr Pugh seems to be an audacious young man. It is transparent to all, that he is eager to be seen as the man who brought in some of the biggest cuts for his party, in the shortest space of time. Like standing on the top of County Hall, waving across the water to London, shouting ‘Look at me, look at me’ Island Residents, and those councillors… Read more »

Dear all I said that the pool would be better served and more sustainable if it were run by the local community group ie by Ryde people for Ryde! I am pleased that the town council on which I sit has also agreed to support the pool next year, and was very happy that this was voted through at our recent meeting about the precept. Gary Taylor’s comment at yesterday meeting of the full Council ” Lots of correspondence supporting the pool, but I’ll be voting against this motion” epitomises what is wrong with local politics. Voted in following the disgraced LibDem councillor Adrian Whittaker losing his seat after being convicted of spitting in the face of the police. There is little point in reasoned argument when the previous reasoned argument was just ignored during the betrayal. It is the people of Ryde South who have been insulted by the betrayer, acting on the orders of his tin pot dictator.
