Isle of Wight writers’ TV programmes nominated for two BAFTA awards

Isle of Wight writers, Hannah George and James Whitehouse, had some good news today.

They discovered that two programmes they write for have been nominated for BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Children’s Awards.

The first nomination is in Children’s Entertainment for Justin’s House (a children’s programme on CBeebies) and the second for Wolfblood (a fantasy/supernatural drama television series aimed at teens on CBBC), which has been nominated in the Children’s Drama category.

Extra special nomination
Hannah told OnTheWight,

“It’s always exciting to be nominated for awards. This is our first year on Justin’s House, so it’s extra special.”

Wolfblood picked up Best Children’s Drama at the RTS Programme Awards back in 2013.

High time. This high-friction surfacing can save lives. After resurfacing, a few years ago, this HF material was not replaced on the sharp bend at Blackwater Hollow where two young men died when their car skidded some years ago. I assume that Island Roads has waited until all the roads where this HFS is needed have been resurfaced, before carrying this out, to save money.
