Isle of Wight singer-songwriter Ben Stubbs debut album, Light of My Life, is releasing on limited edition vinyl exactly a year after launching a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign to help fund the recording and production of the music.
Lots of positive attention
It’s been available to stream on all major platforms and to buy on CD since its release back in May and has received a lot of really positive attention from Music Magazines, Radio, Bloggers etc. and is really starting to pick up around the world.
There are some exciting shows with the band in the pipeline too including a few mini-tours.
Requests for vinyl
There was never a solid plan to release on vinyl, but since the CDs went so well and there were quite a lot of requests for it, Ben decided to take a chance on pressing Vinyl, a costly process but with any luck it’ll pay off.
Limited edition run of 200
The Island community have been incredibly supportive of this project from the start. Island people love Island projects and there is a pretty strong resurgence within the vinyl world at the moment. It will be a limited edition run with only 200 available and once they’re gone, they’re gone. The first 100 will be hand numbered and signed.
Ben said,
“It feels like a really huge achievement for an independent artist like myself to be able to release my music on the ultimate format and I’m massively grateful to such a hugely supportive fanbase for helping me to hit that next big milestone.”
The LP is currently on display as part of the the Needles in the Groove, Isle of Wight vinyl exhibition in Ryde, which finishes on Friday 8th December.
