Still relishing in the success of their 2024 Isle of Wight Festival appearance, Island punk group, The Pill, have announced a concert in Norway, taking place next month.
On Saturday, 10th August 2024, the trio will make their way to Oslo for a performance at Revolver, a venue in the centre of the capital city.
Afterparty for one of Norway’s biggest music festivals
The concert is being billed as an after-party for one of Norway’s biggest music festivals, Øyafestivalen, which will host Pulp, The National and IDLES as headliners this year.
The Pill, made up of Lily Hutchings, Lottie Massey and Rufus Reader, are among four bands that will perform after the main festival closes its gates each night.
Irish group, Cardinals, American rock band, Nourished By Time and University, a four-piece from Leigh, are all scheduled to perform on August 7th, 8th and 9th, respectively.

Speaking about their upcoming Norway concert, The Pill said,
“Norway is definitely the furthest we have ventured as a band to sing about our silly antics.
“It’s so crazy to be a part of it and we’re so excited.
“On the off chance any Norwegians are reading this… see you there!”
Festival performance
Last month, The Pill drew fans to the River Stage at the 2024 Isle of Wight Festival when they performed a 40 minute, action packed homecoming set, full of jokes, shout-outs and raucous ‘jank punk’ music.
From premiering ‘Woman Driver,’ based on their experience of being involved in a crash whilst driving home from a concert, to closing the set with their debut, and only single so far, Bale of Hay, the band demonstrated they are certainly one to watch.
50,000 streams
Bale of Hay has been played on air by Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, and has already amassed over 50 thousand streams online.

Absolute madness
Speaking about their IOW Festival appearance, The Pill said:
“The Isle of Wight Festival was absolute madness.
“We had a blast and it was a true blessing to rock out on our home turf.
“Thank you to everyone who came along for the chaos.”
Later this month, The Pill will perform at Southampton’s Life in Death Festival and in October, will take to the stage at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms for the 2024 edition of Night Currents Festival.
