Bonchurch classical musician James Halsey will be appearing on the Tom Stroud Show on IW Radio this afternoon just after the 1pm news.
Why is that of interest to you? Well, he’ll be talking about a new series of Sunday recitals that kick off at the Ventnor Winter Gardens this coming Sunday (22nd), as well as that he’ll be playing his cello live.
Once a month, Jame and his daughter, Sally, who is also an accomplished classical musician will be performing fundraising recitals at the Winter Gardens to help raise much needed cash for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The recitals will feature piano and cello music informally introduced through a variety of light classics for cello and piano from wonderful composers such as Rachmaninov, Fauré and Mendelssohn, including some favourites like Saint-Saens’ “The Swan”.
Once a month from 3pm, you’ll be able to enjoy classical recitals at the Winter Gardens. A retiring collection will donate all funds to the Hospice.
Tune into 102/107fm or listen online from 1pm.
