The Joe Ellis Trust Fund, which has been running for just over two weeks has already reached £52,568 of its £100,000 target.
A huge number of donations have been made and many fundraising events have taken place over the last week.
New wristbands
The latest in the awareness and fundraising efforts are wristbands which have been produced to show support and help raise more cash towards the pioneering cancer treatment of 13 year old Joe Ellis.
You can purchase yours from Olivo Restaurant in Newport as well as Mr T’s and Available Light Gallery & Gifts. In Ryde, the Ponda Rosa and The King Lud are both selling the wristbands.
If you’re in Freshwater, pop into Frise Jewellers. Babushka Books for Shanklin residents and Oh So Vintage in Ventnor.
We understand there are also a small number of supplies for staff at Newport Police Station, Newport Fire Station, Central stores at HMP and at the Ambulance Head Quarters in Newport.
Cakes and books needed for Saturday sale
A cake and book sale is taking place on on Saturday 28th at the Salvation Army Church Hall in Pyle Street, Newport.
If you have books you’d like to donate, please drop off at 29 Alderbury Road in Newport.
Cakes can be dropped off from 8.30am on the day.
Successful fundraisers
A charity gig at The King Lud on Friday night raised a brilliant £170 and the Victorious Life Church in Newport raised just under £800 by auctioning a painting and for selling all 50 of their wristbands in under 24 hours.
Not forgetting the bag packers at an Island supermarket on Saturday, who raised a whopping £604.
Well done to you all.
