You can hear Isle of Wight historian and county councillor John Medland talking on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live programme tomorrow morning from 9am.
In a pre-recorded feature, John talks to John McCarthy ‘from the site of the world’s first radio station’ at Alum Bay.
John, who has an incredible depth of historical knowledge about the Isle of Wight, told OnTheWight that they were almost blown over by an onshore gale during the recording.
You can find out more about the ‘world’s first radio station’ from this article written by John Medland back in 2007.
Tune into Radio 4 from 9am to hear the feature.
Thanks to Seb for the heads-up.
