Join the Team: Isle of Wight Pride seeks new trustees and volunteers

The search is on for new Trustees and Volunteers to become part of Team Isle of Wight Pride. Work is underway for this year’s Pride celebration on 15th July 2023, along with activities over the weekend and throughout the year.

Last year, IW Pride returned to Ryde after a two-year break with a successful three-day event including a parade, community village and entertainment featuring amazing local artists to a Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist.

Many hands make light work
Andy Newman, Trustee said,

“Isle of Wight Pride is made possible by small core team of loyal volunteers and trustees, many who have full time employment and responsibilities, supporting us in their spare time.

“As the saying goes, many hands make light work and we seek to increase the team and bring new skills and ideas to event and how we support the community all year round.

“Everyone is welcome, be it from within the LGBTQIA+ community to Allies.  Whatever skills, help on the day or lead up to the big event are all appreciated, from shaking a bucket to organising the event, performing to site decoration. We particularly welcome interest from potential Trustees.”

Hovertravel and Ryde Town Council have confirmed they will continue their support for 2023.

Promises to be a rewarding experience
Laura Fraser, Trustee added,

“Being part of Team Pride promises to be a rewarding experience for everyone and offers some amazing opportunities to get involved.

“Every offer of help counts, and IW Pride can help find a role to match peoples skills.”
