Keert joins forces with Voi to boost Isle of Wight’s sustainable travel

Keert, the Isle of Wight’s only ultra low emissions logistics service, is excited to announce a new partnership with Voi, the popular electric bike and scooter rental service that recently commenced operations on the Island this month.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing sustainable transportation options for residents and visitors on the Isle of Wight.

Rent via the app
Voi, which took over the Isle of Wight contract from Beryl, offers electric bikes and scooters for public rental via the easy-to-use Voi app or the Solent Breeze Transport app.

Users can conveniently pick up these eco-friendly vehicles from various locations around the Island and return them to designated bays after use.

Battery changes, safety checks, and ongoing maintenance
To ensure the safety and reliability of these bikes and scooters, Keert will be responsible for battery changes, safety checks, and ongoing maintenance.

To access the fleet of Voi scooter and bikes, Keert uses their ultra low emissions e-cargo bikes and e-van, making sure the whole Voi operation on the Island is sustainable and working towards the Isle of Wight’s Net Zero by 2040 aim.

Initially Cowes, Newport and Ryde
The partnership will initially focus on Cowes, Newport and Ryde, with plans to expand the service across the entire Island in the future.

This expansion will provide more residents and tourists with access to affordable, clean and efficient, transportation options, reducing the Island’s carbon footprint and promoting sustainable travel.

Whittaker: We are contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for our community
Matthew Whittaker, Director at Keert, said,

“We are thrilled to partner with Voi and support the growth of electric bike and scooter services on the Isle of Wight.

“By ensuring that these vehicles are safe and well-maintained, we are contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for our community.”

Bolton: It’s fantastic that we’re able to support a local business
James Bolton, general manager of Voi UK, said,

“We’re very excited to have launched on the Isle of Wight and it’s fantastic that we’re able to support a local business.

“We look forward to working with Keert to make sure our e-scooters and e-bikes are safe, available and in good repair so as many people as possible can benefit from them.”

Providing more job opportunities
The new contract with Voi has also enabled Keert to hire additional paid staff, providing more job opportunities for local residents. Keert is committed to offering a living wage and comprehensive training and development for all new employees, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.

This partnership not only strengthens Keert’s commitment to sustainability but also supports the local economy by creating jobs and promoting environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
