Kelly Sotherton Pulls Out Again

Sotherton Pulls Out AgainNewport born heptathlete Kelly Sotherton’s injury woes continue with the announcement today of her withdrawal from this weekend’s UK Indoor Grand Prix event at Birmingham.

This time citing a heel injury, the 32 year old Olympic medalist is said to be “gutted” at having to pull out, this following a series of fitness and injury problems over the past year.

Kelly sustained a back injury at a Grand Prix in Glasgow last month and didn’t feature in the high jump at Sheffield as a precaution because of a recurrence of a hip problem.

The Island’s most popular athlete reportedly has no belly button, but clearly does not lack backbone.

She’s insistent that a few days rest and some specialist treatment will have her back in shape in time for the European Indoor Championships in Turin at the beginning of March.
